Hold off on buying the Les Paul or the ESP until you are sure that playing the guitar is something you want to stick with. If you want to purchase an acoustic guitar, an inexpensive Yamaha will do just fine.

For an amp, a 50-75 watt practice amp will do just fine. You can usually pick up a used one in the paper or at a pawn shop for about $50. Although a pawn shop is a good place to pick up an amp, I would not recommend buying a guitar from one. You will be better off buying new.

You do not have to buy an effects pedal right away. Effects pedals can get in the way of developing your fingering techniques. It can make you get a few bad habits. Hold off on these until you have graduated from the beginner stage.
